San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition Results
In 2000, the San Francisco Chronicle began sponsoring the wine competition in 2000, officially naming it the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, with judging and tastings of medal-winning wines held in San Francisco. By 2006, the competition had grown significantly, welcoming more than 900 wineries from across the United States and setting a record with 3,318 wine entries representing wine regions throughout the country.
The competition continued its rapid expansion, earning its reputation as the largest competition of American wines in the world. Entries climbed from 3,800 wines in 2007 to an impressive 6,960 entries by 2018, showcasing the diversity and quality of American wine making nationwide.
Pebblestone cellars has entered wines in the SF Wine Competition for 20 years and have been very fortunate and proud to receive many great awards for our wines from silver and gold to Best of Class. This year we entered five wines and were awarded five medals. We received two Gold medals for 2018 Syrah and 2019 Malbec and three Silver medals for 2023 Pinot Gris, 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2022 Albarino. We will have all five wines available for tasting and purchase this weekend, so come in and taste them and take some home!
