We have been asked what our recommendations are for wine for Thanksgiving, so here is what we are planning for our meal:
Appetizer: 2022 Sparkling Pinot Gris ~ Our Sparkling Pinot Gris is an excellent way to start the meal. The Meyer lemon, pear, white nectarine, and apple flavors blend together seamlessly, creating a symphony of flavors that dance on your palate. The great mouthfeel and Mousse make this sparkling wine a perfect beginning to a great Thanksgiving celebration.
Main Course White: 2020 Viognier ~ Gold Medal/90 points at the 2023 Savor Northwest Wine Competition. This wine is the best choice for a white wine to start or drink through the entire meal. This vintage exhibits wonderful aromatics, complex flavors, balance and lingering finish. It is a true delight for the palate and a superb choice for a Thanksgiving dinner wine.
Main Course Red: 2019 Grenache Red ~ Our Pebblestone Grenache Red is a slightly lighter style wine much like Pinot Noir. However, in contrast to Pinot Noir and other red wines, our Grenache has softer tannins with juicy raspberry and dark cherry fruit flavors with moderate acidity. It has great balance and texture with a long finish.
Dessert Course: 2020 Late Harvest Pinot Gris ~ With its intoxicating aroma and luscious, sweet, fresh fruit flavors, the Late harvest Pinot Gris is the perfect dessert wine. It pairs very well with spice cake, cheese cake and of course pumpkin pie. If you are having chocolate cake, it might not work, but there’s always our Velours port style wine.
