DESCRIPTION:Well known California blues musician Bill Scholer is bringing his thoughtful and heartfelt brand of the blues back to Pebblestone. A member of the Sacramento Blues Hall Of Fame\, Scholer now lives in Talent\, Oregon. Before moving to Talent\, Bill lived in Japan for the past eight years. There he was described as “without a doubt one of the most notable and creative blues guitarist and songwriters in Japan… Bill’s approach is certainly based in the blues\, but expands significantly to include jazz\, rock\, avante garde\, and other music traditions.” \nJoining Bill is Bassist Todd Ragland\, a native Oregonian. He studied jazz and classical music at Southern Oregon University. During this time\, he played with Venezuelan artist Irene Ferrera and jazz guitarist Herb Ellis. Later\, he settled in Tokyo where he worked as a bassist and composed soundtrack music. He played with “The Steve Loza Latin Jazz Band and later with jazz guitarist Kenny Burrell. After returning to Portland\, he played Afro-Beat/Afro-Cuban music with the Ubuntu Project and Zimbabwean music with Loveness Wesa and the Bantus. Currently\, he lives in Ashland performing and composing music.
